Scholarships

  • Apply for a WASSP Scholarship Banner - WASSP now offers 2 scholarships for member schools and leaders. $500 is offered to a student in a school with WASSP members, and $500 is offered to an aspiring leader in WASSP member schools.

High School Student Scholarships

 

 

Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals Scholarship

This $500 student scholarship is available for a senior in a Wyoming High School where the Principal or Assistant Principals are members of WASSP. 

Each High School may choose one candidate to submit to the WASSP readers.

Applications and all letters of recommendation must be submitted in digital format to the Executive Director of WASSP by January 31. 

Once selected, the winner will receive a check from WASSP upon proof of registration in a post-secondary institution as a full-time student.

To apply, please submit the following: 

  • Student's Name
  • Principal's Name
  • Principal's Email Address
  • Principal's Phone Number
  • School's Name
  • Student's Street Address

In addition to a completed form, the following documents must be submitted via email to the Executive Director of WASSP jeffmakelky@gmail.com. 

  1. A letter of recommendation from a WASSP member Principal
  2. Two other letters of recommendation from teachers and/or other administrators
  3. A current transcript
  4. Each application must include an essay written by the student entitled, “What Education Means to Me and How It Will Shape My Future.”

WASSP CTE Scholarship Application

This $500 Trade/Vocational student scholarship is available for a senior in a Wyoming High School, signing on as an apprentice or intern in a CTE field and where the Principal or Assistant Principals are members of WASSP.

The school must have a Principal or Assistant Principal as a member of WASSP.

Applications and all letters of recommendation must be submitted in digital format to the Executive Director of WASSP by January 31. 

Once selected, the winner will receive a check from WASSP upon proof of registration in an apprenticeship, internship, or post-secondary institution.

This $500 Trade/Vocational student scholarship is available for a senior in a Wyoming High School, registering to attend a trade/vocational school and where the Principal or Assistant Principals are members of WASSP.

The school must have a Principal or Assistant Principal as a member of WASSP.

Applications and all letters of recommendation must be submitted in digital format to the Executive Director of WASSP by January 31.

Scholarship for Aspiring School Leaders (or current teachers)

Emma Jo Spiegelberg Aspiring Leader Scholarship

 

 

The Emma Jo Scholarship is a $500 award available to current teachers or educators in Wyoming who aspire to become school leaders. Eligible applicants must work in a school where the Principal or Assistant Principal is a member of the Wyoming Association of Secondary School Principals (WASSP). To be eligible for this scholarship, funds may not be used for any coursework or credits that are reimbursed by your district.

Each school may nominate one candidate for consideration by the WASSP scholarship review committee.

Applications and all required recommendation letters must be submitted digitally to the Executive Director of WASSP by January 31.

  • Two additional letters of recommendation from colleagues, supervisors, or other administrators
  • Proof of enrollment from an accredited post-secondary institution or leadership organization (if applicable)

Each application must also include an essay written by the applicant responding to the following prompt:
